How to run Outlook with a different account

So you are logged in as yourself, and need to access someone’s mailbox. Yes you can associated a mailbox with your account, or just open someones inbox, but when you want to do something as importing contacts, you cannot. Soo..

 If you are using Windows XP

  • Hold the shift key and right click on the outlook shortcut on your desktop
  • Select Run As
  • Select the following user
  • For user name put in your domain\username
  • Enter password and done.

If you are using Windows Vista,
Outlook 2003 do start, run: runas /user:domain\username”C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\outlook.exe”

Outlook 2007 do start, run: runas /user:domain\username”C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\outlook.exe”

Note, if you are running 64bit OS, the directory structure may be different.
