How to force client to connect to WSUS server
If you have Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) running in your environment, you know it can take up to 22 hours before a newly added machine to the domain can start receiving updates from WSUS. To force this, you can run the following command on the client. wuauclt /detectnow
Within minutes your client should have the windows update icon signifying it has contacted the WSUS server and is ready for updates.
