Joomla SEF404 not working

After enabling you notice you receive 404 component not found.

The fix, ensure under global settings you have Search engine Friendly URLs enabled.

Then, ensure your .htaccess is okay. If you have joomla installed in a subfolder, make sure the rewrite base is correct.

The fix that worked for me after all of this, was that in your joomla configuration.php, my

$var $livesite =’ ‘;

was changed to

var $live_site= ‘www.mysite.com’;

Clear joomla sef urls and fixed.
